Heraclea Ovens

   For the second year respectively, the Culture Committee start work in the burnt brick ovens at the archaeological site of Heraclea, Raqqa..

   These ovens produce grilled brick tablets which are involved in the process of restoring buildings and archaeological sites in the city of Raqqa and others..

    In the first phase, raw materials are being prepared and then clay being leavened, and finally sliced within the selected salon  to be ready for the second phase which is burning..

   These brick ovens which are considered to be the first of it’s type in Northeastern Syria, and which produce brick tablets according to the Roman and Abbasid standards,  are made manually by the local people…
